wts: JM inspected Marlin 336CS 30/30

I traded for this for a farm gun, and its just to pretty to beat up on the farm. Its a early-mid 80’s Marlin 336CS with micro grooved rifling. It is in 30-30, The bluing is very nice with light handling marks and dings from normal use. It has the JM inspection mark. Asking $435 shipped. Must go to ffl unless your in southern Mo and can ftf. Ffl must accept from individual. Sorry no trades at this time.

That’s an excellent price on a sweet rifle.

All Marlin SC models had a 20" barrel.

First two numbers of the serial number will tell you the exact DOM (100-xx)
They make great "farm"/truck guns, beat it like a red-headed step child, she can take it and they look better well used. You might beat a $100 off her over the years but that's a JM and will pretty much hold its value just cuz' a that.
That Marlin model was made for that use.
The next guy will refinish the stocks and say he loves the used look of an old ranch levergun.

The rifles serial starts 17. That makes it a 83’ model. It has a 20” bbl.

I traded for another marlin in much worse shape for my farm gun. This one should be given a better home. I think it would make a fine present for a young man to begin life’s journey.
