Got mine today! Very nice, thanks!
Needing to break some edges was something I quickly noticed, but no big deal.

Anyone have any shinny new ingots to show from them yet?!

Mine arrived in good shape, though can't say the same for the box. Now to wait on some dry weekend weather, good for my garden but not so much for molten metal.

molds too pretty to use.... NOT! Very nice. I'm going to be an ingot casting fool. Filled a second 20# propane tank just so I wouldn't get interrupted by running out of propane. The OT designation will be what I use for any alloy I make or scrounge. The earlier discussion on how folks might mark their ingot alloy percentages for OT provided some good ideas and helped me sort of crystalize my own thoughts.

The plain and WW lead just got a whole lot easier since I just have to mark which of those it is. I tend to keep most Lino in raw form but do have some in ingots and might mix some up too. Can cut to hardball pretty easily.

Big win for me is consistent ingots allow for easy mixing by weight. They provide easy stacking, inventory, and shipping. I mean think about it. Weigh an ingot, count the ingots, know how much you have on the shelf of that type of lead. By being able to fully fill a SFRB it will put a few extra pounds in for the same shipping cost. Every time these are sold in S&S forum it will save someone a little on the shipping per pound. Since a SFRB will fit in a MFRB I would say getting a full and well packed load in a MFRB just got easier too. Snug packed is much less likely to end up as a broken box and spilled load.

We all owe a special debt to Lakehouse for the extra effort that went into the design not only for the graphics but for the sizing and angles etc. I have worked with graphic artists and designers, that job is is work. Work that went above and beyond the normal honcho a group buy task. Not to mention shopping for a suitable and reasonably priced supplier. Tip of the hat and a ladle salute to you Lakehouse. It was earned.

So like when is the Redneck Gold ingot coming out?

Sorry my inner smart...... derriere got away from me. I belong to a group, I'm getting better really.
Scrap.... because all the really pithy and emphatic four letter words were taken and we had to describe this source of casting material somehow so we added an "S" to what non casters and wives call what we collect.

Kind of hard to claim to love America while one is hating half the Americans that disagree with you. One nation indivisible requires work.

The pain from the last one is starting to subside and It does look like there may be others would would take the Redneck gold mold... Give me a few weeks and I'll probably start the design and then the process. Should be faster this time through.
