I have a #5 Rowell bottom pour ladle that is so big that it's hard to fill it by dipping into my 12" diameter propane tank pot that holds 250#. For consistent weight bottom poured ingots I use a smaller soup ladle to fill it. Still, I think it will work for the new molds.

The #5 is listed as holding 9 pounds of lead. You can actually put ten pounds in one, but it will be so full that spilling molten lead is a problem. The lower weight might work out, though, since each mold filled with a smaller amount will have less width and may fit the SFRB better.

I think for this mold, a high capacity bottom pour processing pot with a valve that can really regulate the outflow volume and pressure would be ideal.

Yep, received my notice that a shipping label was created....

    I'm waiting patiently.

    Sort of.

For weight i agree with StuBach, they seem to be coming in at 2.5lbs with WW stock.

    I love easy math:
    4 cavities x 2.5lbs equals 10lb per filled mold
12 ingots per SFRB equals 30lbs per box

Easy to keep track of stock that way.

I have done it both ways, with my 20 lb Magma bottom pour and with my favorite 5 lb ladle. For bulk melts I use the ladle and the turkey fryer, but if I need to mix up a small amount of a certain alloy the pot works fine. I just bought another 212 lbs of lead yesterday, the pile is waiting for these moulds!

I've shipped everything EXCEPT the last 6 orders. I ran out of tape, so they will ship on Monday... We are almost there...

Eagerly scans the list to see where he is. Gleefully but guiltily rubs hands on seeing he isn't one the unlucky who have to wait for Lakehouse to get some much deserved rest and then buy more tape. Spends the next three "business days" sitting by the mailbox...

Mine "might" be at post office tomorrow. Got notification. Won't fit in my mailbox so a trip to town is scheduled for Tuesday to be sure. Thanks again for this.

    Wow, just wow.

I expected these would look good but really didn't expect they would be this good.

Also didn't expect you to get them packed up so quickly. That's a pile of work.

    Thanks

Hey, mine should arrive tomorrow if my postman is on the ball. Thanks again for making this happen. Can't wait to melt some lead and fill these molds. If you decide to do the Hillbilly Gold, count me in for 4 more.

    Thanks,
    Broomstraw

I guess I'm on the late list. So far I have no notice of shipping. I can wait a few more days. NO PROBLEM. Thanks Lakehouse for doing this group buy!

    I got mine, thanks Chris!

They are smaller than I imagined, but after thinking about each bar size they are good. I’m glad I bought 2!!!

I shipped yours and paid cash for the first batch of boxes to get rid of all the Money orders i had, so you may not get an email warning. But will get it today or tomorrow

Leave it to someone from Oklahoma to say they are smaller than expected.... LOL

I would have expected that from a Texan.

Got mine today. Like Hatch said they are almost too pretty to use. Kind of like taking a shiny, brand new, high dollar gun into the brush hunting. When I got them it sounded like a bunch of broken china rattling around in the box and I thought, "Oh No! The PO has wrecked yet another shipment for me." But when I opened the box and those beautiful ingot molds smiled up at me it almost made my eyeballs sweat. I wanted to hug them and squeeze them for a little while but then I thought that was a bit strange so I just smiled back at them. I can't wait to put them to work.

So, for those of you who are still waiting for your molds, be patient, they are worth the wait.
