Howdy, I was wondering if there were any 223 dies made for the Lyman 310 tool? I've found 222 out there but couldn't come across 223?
Thanks y'all for pointing me in the right direction!

Yes - But they are scarce. The 222 dies will also load 223 for you

But the 222 dies won't deprime or size? Only seat the bullet?

The 310 dies neck size only... the difference between the 222 and 223 is in the body length. For a while Lyman marketed a single 310 die set as usable for 222, 222 Mag and 223 all three. If you need FL sizing, you will need a set of full size dies or at least a FL sizing die for a "big" press. Everything else is done with the same dies, just adjusted to the necessary length.

And the 310 depriming die is fairly universal - That is, the 222 depriming die will work for the 223 - as will the priming chamber - as will the seating die - as will the neck sizer, etc. The adjustment will be in the depth the tools and seating stem are adjusted too

Ah gotcha. These are shot in an AR style rifle so from what I understand I shouldn't next size only.... I guess I'm just going to have to stick to the big press.
Thank you so much for your help!

The little Lee Hand Press will use standard dies , full length size and is very portable .
Slips into a gym bag with everything needed to reload...I bought one Hand Press and found so many uses for it I bought a second . Have been doing all of my handgun and 30-30 rifle with it .

Lately one of my favorite rounds has been the 32 S&W Long. I save up a bunch of fired rounds and then batch process the whole lot with a (carbide) die that decaps and FL sizes on a standard full size press. Then I can tumble if needed or just pull out whatever number I need for that loading session and do the rest with my small dies on a 310 Tool or TruLine Jr press. This is sort of “cheating” I guess, but most of the steps can be done easily with the 310 Tool.

I like doing small batches or single steps by hand with the 310 while parked in front of the wood stove

I have parts of a 223 die set if anyone is interested. I'd have to dig them out to say exactly what I have.

Another option is to contact Rick Morill at the 310 shop. He makes 223 sets or has old ones. I've done business with him and he's a nice fellow, IMHO. http://www.cnyauctions.com/the310shop.htm

As Green Frog says, if you have the big press just size on the big one and the rest on the 310.
I often do that then use the 310 at the range for final assembly.
I like that one of my "Big Press's" is a Tru-line JR.
