    Game Carts

Anyone have a favorite? I've been using a cheap one from spotsmans guide for maybe 15 years, not the best, for one thing, I thing the wheel base needs to be wider, and the solid rubber tires that were on it originally disintegrated several years ago and it turned out a kid's 20" bicycle tire worked, but I really think I've gotten my money's worth out of it and it's time for a better one.

Any recommendations? Kinda figure I might be able to catch some on sale now that the season is over.

Look at discount ramps. They make 2. One converts into a shooting chair. Both rated for 500 lb.

    Is this the one? https://www.discountramps.com/viking...CABEgKK9fD_BwE

Looks good. The one I have been using forever is this one; https://www.discountramps.com/game-c...yABEgI4qvD_BwE

Part of the problem with the current one is that it was designed to have pins pulled and fold up. What that meant was fasteners disappeared at inopportune times, like when you're trying to haul out a deer in thick brush at night. I fixed that and just made all fasteners permanent in one way or another, it was still small enough to fit in the truck OK, but the ergonomics on it are bad, and it tips over going on uneven terrain too easily if you don't get a load balanced on it.

I have a Cabela's heavy duty....however I don't use it much....I changed over to a Jet Sled...yep plastic ice fishing style sled rolls easier over logs, muck, mud, and brush that I find near where I hunt. It really is a breeze in the snow.
The 54" size is a perfect fit cross wise in a PU too.

The cart I have is the killshot throne. By moving the seat and folding one wheel 90deg it goes from cart to 360 deg swiveling chair. Handles my fat *** just fine.

If there is snow on the ground, which isn't reliable here in deer season, I have used kid's plastic sleds and agree, it's easier than a wheeled cart. I like the looks of those Home Depot ones for the price.

I still think something with wheels on it is the way to go for most of the season here and I'm liking that one with four wheels now. My honey hole stand is a long way in, but it's only maybe the first 3-400 yards that's really tough, the rest is usually relatively easy going once they've harvested. I do hunt muzzle loader and some early archery which makes it hard because there's a lot more brush and also because it's usually a lot warmer which makes the urgency of getting the deer out more important.

I've tried a few home made carts over the years some with bigger bicycle tires even and it's always the same issue where I'm at anyways , fallen logs on the ground ! Just about kill yourself getting a cart with a small 80-100 lb deer on it over that log even a 6-8" log And we're I'm at logs are everywhere . If there's snow it's easy enough to just tie a rope on the beast and pull .No snow I use a plastic sled. If your in fairly open terrain a cart works well enough though . Also don't let go of the cart when your trying to pull it up a steep hill! Carts tend to roll backwards as well ! Lol yeah I've done it
If you find yourself in a fair fight, your tactics suck!

ive got one like yours. Tell you one thing. After over 10 years of crop damage shooting I cant begin to express how much work that thing has saved us. It isn't allways the answer as in real thick swamps its not really practical but the first time you drag out a deer with one hand as easily as walking you will swear by them too. Heck just this year I shot 3 does about 350 yards out across a field that had a cow fence so we couldn't get the truck to it. Put all three on the cart strapped them down with ratchet straps and hauled them out easier then youd drag a 70lb doe. One of the best things ive ever bought. See know where they sell them with electric motors. Probably slick for some applications but the simple light one works and is a lot easier to move around and get it back to the deer.

Not an option even if I had one, public land where ANY vehicle is illegal. Including four wheelers.

I have both, We use this Jet Sled mostly. its light easy to carry and works just fine.

Drag 'em out and throw the whole thing on a hitch n haul!

I have been gonna RE-Build my cart with angled wheels like sport wheel chairs used for sporting events for the handicapped. Haven't done so yet. (I'm a welder) It should help immensely on uneven terrain resisting tip overs.

guarantee you your not getting that up to deer in the swamps up here. Lucky to get a 4 wheeler up to a deer without major tree and brush cutting. I have drug a couple of them out of the gullys around my blind with my jeep winch and atv winches though. I have a 100 foot cable on the jeep and carry a 100 foot rope. Covers you for the last 200 feet and the 10 drop off around at least 2/3s of the field I hunt. Didn't need it when I was in my 30s. Heck ive tossed them over my back and carried them out. that aint happening anymore. Nothing ive found is more handy then a deer cart though.
