Groo here
Online there is some , also some powder makers show it[Hodgdon powder]
As the case is not too different than 45acp the heaver boolets may not work as well.[eat up too much case]
Have been loading .45 Super for about a year or so. Have a Kimber Stainless Target II modified to run the round and a friend had a Colt Combat Commander customized to run the round also.
Have been running 230 grain Hornady TC bullets and several different plated and cast 250-255 grain bullets. Longshot is the powder we have been using and it was quite easy to get the same velocities that Buffalo Bore has with their factory loads.
Velocity with the 230s is 1100 and 1050 for the heavies. We did run them up higher but decided to just stick with the factory velocities...

Lots of information here also...

Here is what I have. Source was Texas Ammunition via an Article by Jan Libourel in Guns and ammo Jan 1999.
Tactical level loads (essentially 45 auto +P and usable in all 45s suited to +p loads)
185 gr 9.5 grains Power Pistol velocity 1100
200 gr. 8.5 gr. Power Pistol vel. 1030
230 gr 8.0 Power Pistol vel. 930
Max loads
185gr 11 gr Power Pistol vel. 1300
200gr 10gr Power Pistol vel. 1200
230gr 9.2gr Power pistol vel. 1100
Cast is an adjective, a noun and a verb. Cast works as both imperative and past tense without any additional letters or helping verbs.
Try handloads they seem to have a bit http://handloads.com.
huntersdog, the posters over at the 1911 forum have been posting about the .45 Super for years, they have all the load info you will need, especially if you are considering the 1911 platform.
Go to: https://forums.1911forum.com/ and type .45 Super in the search bar. They are a nice bunch of guys, sorta like here! Semper Fi, Treetop

Good call, RED BEAR. Hadloads.com was where I started looking into it.
I found a load that performs very well out of my 5" 1911. A 200gr XTP backed by 11.5gr of Blue Dot and a large pistol primer in .45 ACP brass gets me right at 1200fps. Can't remember the OAL, but it's a book value. Spent primers look like conventional factory .45 ACP. YMMV - cautious load development, of course. It seems Blue Dot is at a burn rate which just allows it to get fully lit and consumed under the 200gr bullet in a 5". If you want to use a 200gr cast boolit for economy's sake, reduce the load to 8gr and work up. Cast acted very differently and was beginning to flatten primers with loads well below what the XTP would take.
My 1911 allows the use of 2 shock buffs under a shaped .030 washer to distribute the load evenly and still lock the slide back, which does a lot to prevent hammering, but adding a compensator would also help a good bit in reducing slide velocities in the rotating link design. Come to think of it, Peterstahl in Germany once made a linkless top end for the 1911, but those don't seem to be around anymore.
I had another using the Lee .45 255gr RNFP and 2400, but I don't recall what the load was. I was also playing with Lil Gun and the 255, which works well enough, but I haven't wrung out what's possible with it. Lil Gun seems like it would be way too slow for .45 ACP, and it would be if not for the mass and drag of the 255gr. It might also be workable with a 230gr, but haven't tried it. Come warm weather, it'll be interesting to chrono some loads and get some numbers.

Thank you all very much for all the information on loading the 45 Super and the links provided!
I have 200 rounds of 450 SMC ammo. Anyone know how the pressures compare to 45 Super?
This might give you an idea. However, it it's a different maker -- who knows.
