    38-50 Hepburn from 30-40 Krag

Does anyone have a drawing or know where I can get one for a stepped expander to form this brass. I think the rim needs to be turned down also but I can't even find a drawing of the case either. I purchased some 38-50 brass from Buffalo Arms but they won't sell the tools to make it. Ant help would be appreciated. I own a DZ arms rifle chambered in this caliber and want to build my own. Thanks, Bob

Check with the guys at the ASSRA site. There are a lot of .38-50 shooters there. Also check BPCR sites.
Making that brass should be easy. You just need a long tapered expander.
You might be able to buy a few tapered expanders and open the neck in steps. Track of the Wolf sells .38 cal expanders that fit a LEE 45-70 expander die. Those tapered expanders might require a little work with a file to get a nice long taper.
The expander ball on many .358 Win dies are tapered to permit making cases from .308.
Once a case is expanded to .358 you just need to expand it to .38.
It should be easy. I would experiment on junk or berdan .308 or .30-06 brass until you get a good process then work on the Krag brass.

It seems you have already been to ASSRA.
It is easy enough to research these things before you buy an odd ball caliber rifle. What would you do if Krag brass is discontinued?

You won't have to turn down the rim. The reamer DZ uses is set up for modern cases made from 30-40 Krag.
For some great help on this just call Dan Zimmerman and ask him how he does things and that should clear up a lot of questions for you.
