    wts: Colt 1911A1

    Hello all,

I am selling my Colt 1911A1. I brought it home with me from Belgium back in 2004...I was going to have it re-parked, but maybe one of you guys wants it as is. Pretty sure it is more of a "parts" gun, but still looks to be all Colt and correct for the serial number (43 or early 44?) Click image for larger version.

    Interesting proof and inspector's marks.

GHD is the Colt inspector's mark, 1942 through 1945.
BNP is British nitro proof, so it officially came through the UK in the past.
The deer antler (actually a European Red Stag antler) proof mark is the proof house in Ulm, Germany.
The Eagle is a post-WW2 German proof.

These are just off the top of my head.
There are others on the gun which can also be deciphered.

Slide the firing pin stop down some, look for a serial number in the firing pin stop pocket in the end of the slide.
Got a .22 .30 .32 .357 .38 .40 .41 .44 .45 .480 or .500 S&W cylinder that needs throats honed? 9mm, 10mm/40S&W, 45 ACP pistol barrel that won't "plunk" your handloads? 480 Ruger or 475 Linebaugh cylinder that needs the "step" reamed to 6° 30min chamfer? Click here to send me a PM You can also find me on Facebook Click Here.
