    BHN of commercial Boolits

What is the average BHN of lead boolits sold to be loaded into handgun cartridges? Is it the same for factory loaded cartridges with lead boolits?

Hard cast lead bullets are often advertised as 16 Bnl. Jacketed bullets are usually filled with softer lead.

Factory swaged lead bullets loaded in calibers such as the .38 Special for factory standard pressure and +P hollow-point loads are usually 8-10 BHN, as are .22 LR bullets.
