The 175 grain 8 mm Sierra worked great for elk and mule deer for my family. I felt it too heavily constructed for our small white tails here in Texas and my bullet of choice became the Hornady 125 grain soft point at 3000 feet per second. It didn't waste as much meat as you would think and the deer dropped like you hit them in the head with a sledgehammer. Sadly Hornady saw fit to discontinue that bullet. My favorite powder was IMR 4064 for all weights. I'm using Hornady 170 grain SST now, but they just sit in the locker while I enjoy cast bullet shooting in my 8 millimeter. I have always thought those Portuguese rifles were neat as well. Sort of a cross between a Mauser and a mannlicher.

she be using .325 cast bullets which took me ages to get it to shoot but got there in the end.
she is new to centrefires so its a nice gentle load for her

I've had good luck with the Lee 8mm sized in a.325 die, gaschecked, and 21 grains of Alliant 2400. Still a work in progress as I am side tracked with some other milsurp rifles.

    lioner1965 : USE DATA @ YOUR OWN RISK !
for Hornady 150gr. bullet 50.5gr. H4350 or IMR4350 , either . Minimal pressure signs. Just a little less than a grain under start in my old manuals. This is my Gew88/Kar88 load . H4895 is @ 48.0gr. is for M98 Mausers and Verguierio?. Choose flat base bullet cuz it seals/shoots better in a less than perfect bore. However , I only shoot to 200yds. YMMV
