The 307 is a rimmed version of the .308 Winchester and was designed for lever action rifles. The 307 and 308 use the same bullet diameter but you must use round nose or flat point bullets with a tubular magazine.
DO NOT use data for the 308 Winchester when loading the 307 because the 307 casing has thicker walls and slightly less internal case capacity than the 308 Win.
With the exception of the rim on the 307 the 308 Win and the 307 are nearly identical in terms of their external dimensions BUT the case capacities are not the same. Only use data for the 307 when reloading the 307.
Thanks for the info.Trying to learn all I can for that caliber. The winchester 307ae is pristine and hardly ever or never shot. That is my only reason for keeping this beautiful rifle.I only want it for target shooting and occasional coyote.I was given 2 boxes of factory ammo with it and thats for the yotes. My range is set up for 50 and 75 yards.I would like to find info 1200 to about 1500 fpc.Would this be possible.Havent found any info for lite loads yet.
Use .300 Savage cast data for your CB loads. That sounds like a nice rifle.
