    Lee cruise missle

I have one and it just doesn't shoot well.
I was thinking of cutting it down.
    2 questions..............
    1) If I cut it down to the next lube groove, will the gas check fit????
    2) What would be the weight if cut off to the first, second, third groove????

Probably the crappiest mold ever made - the really old ones were great, then some 10-15 years ago they started cutting them with out of spec tooling. Nobody I've talked to has been able to get them to shoot using the later molds, including me in both my Swede and Mannlicher. I think I threw mine away it was so bad. Cut your losses and pick up a proper mold from NOE or one of the others...

Mine works great as a "Donor Core Mold" for swaging into ~ 173 Grain .298 cores; then swaged into .301 boolits with a cup base for Paper Patching to .309 diameter.

The gas check won't fit if you try to crimp it on, I got around this by fixing them with a drop of Lok-Tite thread lock.

You have to be careful not to seat the bullet below the neck, otherwise the crimp will be torn off.

I originally bought this mould for my M91 Carcano and until I had the mould cut down to 150gn it was no good, keyholing with every powder I tried.

I load the bullet as cast at .2695 with 2 coats of liquid Alox and get zero leading.

As you can see from the photo you can get this bullet to shoot well with the right powder.
