    Bullets for ingots?

I’m wondering about trading bullets for a guys ingots. Not sure on the hardness of the ingots so let’s say WW ingots. He has lead that he’s not going to get around to casting. I cast, so ingots come in handy. Bullets in question are noe 452 230gr hollow points. What would a fair trade for both of us be bullets per pound?

Whatever you both find a good deal? WW ingots are roughly $1 per pound in the Swapping and selling. So the lead is a known value. Might consider 2/3 of the cost of a box of 500 commercial bullets of similar type as a value for the bullets. Lubed or not would make a difference but if the bullets are comparable to the commercial versions from companies such as Lasercast then you have an upper limit of what they charge for 500 as a starting basis. Probably reduced by some amount to make them a good deal. I used 2/3 price (times .66) because it seems like that is about what alloys go for in S&S forum. Often they are about 2/3 of the Rotometals price. So $8 for alloy that Rotometals has for $12 seems like a half way decent rule of thumb. If lasercast is $60 for a box then $40 worth of lead would be a good price for the other party and a decent amount of lead for you.

In the end it IS what makes you both feel like you are getting a good deal.
Scrap.... because all the really pithy and emphatic four letter words were taken and we had to describe this source of casting material somehow so we added an "S" to what non casters and wives call what we collect.

Kind of hard to claim to love America while one is hating half the Americans that disagree with you. One nation indivisible requires work.

What you both feel good with , I use WW in my casting , and really don't use soft lead , I had about 50# of sheet lead that I melted down and traded a forum member for some boolits and other stuff he had that I wanted . I told him to send me what he felt was fair to him as I had nothing in the lead other than melting it down , I got 200 462560's (before I got my 462560 mould) and some other stuff he had .. This was maybe ten years ago ..
