    makarov boolits

I just purchased a CZ82 in 9mm Mak, and wonder what boolit molds are liked for that round. The factory FJ bullet weighs 93 grs, and I was thinking about polishing out a Lee 105-gr SWC 2-banger to .360, as needed by the Mak, but would like recommendations.

One of the most endearing sights in the world is the vision of a naked good-looking woman leaving the bedroom to make breakfast. Bolivar Shagnasty (I believe that Lazarus Long also said it, but I can't find any record of it.)

I think you'll need to open up that mould past .360" most all 9mm makarovs need something .365 or bigger in cast .
If you find yourself in a fair fight, your tactics suck!

I load for Makarov, love all phases of casting, reloading and shooting it. It’s all easy. I recommend you get a mold just for it, unless you have experience beagling. Lee has a two cavity mold, 365-95-1R. I went overboard and bought a Mihec mold, but there are others.

The Lee 365-95-1R works well. I also have the NOE SC367-102-RF i believe it is. That works great in German Mak and P64. It didn’t feed well in P83 until doing some feed ramp work. I size these .366

My Makarov will shoot the Lee bullets as dropped but the P64 requires the bullets sized to .363 to feed. Although the Mak shoots as dropped from the mold I get better accuracy with .363 so that’s what i do. Great guns!

I use the Lee Makarov mold also. I've shot many hundreds of them in an EG Makarov and a CZ82. I size to .365 and powder coat them; they shoot great!

What about the polygonal bore on the CZ82? They say not to shoot cast in them.
I shoot cast in mine with no problems....just clean often.

I started converting 9MM Luger brass at first, then Starline came out with Makarov brass!

With reloadable ammo from J&G for $15/box, it's hard to go to Starline! What do they charge, anyway? I checked, and ordered 500...
