    Spring-loaded Barrel drop test "jig"

    This "jig" greatly increases your speed when using your barrel to test COL.
    1.4 dowel drilled into plywood, spring cut to length for your longest barrel,
    spacers to adjust it for other barrels

    drop in loaded cartridge

    push down on the barrel

    grab cartridge or keep pushing down until it falls out when you grab another cartridge to test

    One thing I dislike about using the barrel is the cartridge sticks out differently in different barrels and if you guess a little off you'll get a failure to go into battery
    { don't ask me how I know }

    Is your barrel old enough to be throated, or have you had it throated? I had the same problem with my Kimber and my cast boolits - the thing had no throat, just an abrupt change from chamber to rifling. Dougguy fixed it.

    There is no 'right' that requires me to work for you or you to work for me!
