How does the heating element attach to the power source? I am building my own pot and plan on using 1 of the elements to heat it and control it with a PID. Can it be wired up with normal wire terminals?

You can provide an outlet on the PID and plug the pot into the PID without messing with the inside of the pot's connections. This way you can use several pots with one PID individually.
Turn the rheostat on the Lee pot up to maximum.

If your building your own pot and are going to use the element from an old Lee pot you need to know the element cannot be re bent to fit something else. After it been used and heated it bill break inside and short out. So if your new pot is the same size it should work fine. As far as terminals go you can use regular ones, just make sure when they melt they don’t touch metal. You can buy high temp connectors. Element hooks up to (t’stat) so you would hook up to your PID thru Solid State Relay, be sure to ground everything, all way back to plug, good luck.
I agree with hossfly.
