Storing a long handgun in a safe

I have a small long gun safe and a small safe that will fit a couple 1911s. I am interested in purchasing a Ruger Blackhawk. I understand that the 7.5" barrel model is 13" long. Any suggestions how to store a handgun that long? I am thinking it would have to be stored vertically in the long gun safe somehow.

My gun safes have cloth covered rubber bands straps crisscrossed, like lacing a shoelace, on the inside of the door. My 7.5 Ruger is stored vertically in them, along with several other revolvers and auto pistols.
