My hunting buddy shot this doe Monday with his Peitta revolver. I load both our loads as we shoot the same thing. 8.5 gr of unique, runs about 950 fps. Deer was about 45/50 yds away and dropped at the shot since it barely clipped the backbone. The exit wound showed some expansion and the recovered specimens that we have collected have all been picture perfect.

    Outstanding!

I use a similar bullet from an old Walt Melander NEI block modified by Erik at www.hollowpointmold.com, cast 1:30 with 7 grains of Bullseye in my 4-5/8" Ruger Blackhawk.

Great boolit. Love it in my “classic” 45 colt loads. My everyday working boolit in the 45 is the 45-270-SAA.

Alloy is roughly 50/50 with a scootch of tin. Around 10 BHN on the lee scale.
