Which Eyepiece is Best for BPRC?

The eyepiece I received is the 27XLER with my Kowa TSN-82SV for NRA BPRC. We shoot out to 550 yards.

I’m curious if I’ve received the correct eyepiece. The other options are 21~63XZOOM, 32XWIDE and 50XWIDE.

    Can anyone offer any advice?

I use the 27X on my Kowa for everything. ( High Power, BPCR silhouettes, hand gun, and watching game) It does very well. A couple years ago I started using a set of 35X X 100mm celestron binoculars on a heavy tripod, for spotting BPRC silhouettes, Eye strain and fatigue went way down with them since both eyes were working together. They give a good clear view of the targets mirage and bullets trace.

I have used 20X unertals, a 20XX60 kowa (back when it was the bestest), I still have a 25X 77mm kowa, the 27X X 80mm Kowa and the binoculars.

The LER stands for long eye relief. The others may not allow you to wear glasses and are more critical of eye alignment. I tried a 30 wide field eye piece and depending on alignment I got the target on either side of mine. ANother is as magnification goes up field of view and clarity goes down. Mirage rain become a bigger factor.

Only two are easily usable all the time.
Only the zoom and 27X LER will be usable on a hot day with heavy mirage.
The 27X is my choice for most shooting.
