    Black Powder load

How many grains of fffg can I use in a 30-30 with either 150, or 180gn?

As much as you can fit, either drop tubed or shook, to fill the case and have the bullet seated down on the powder at the right over all length. It will vary therefore, with each brand of brass and each bullet with dif. location of crimp groove.

Basic rule with BP is a full case with no air space, that means a compressed or well shaken down load that will not compress any more with travel. You need more than just a little compression, in other words. The type of BP also makes a difference, with the various Goex products reportedly needing more compression for accuracy than the Swiss product.

Be sure to clean those fired brass with vinegar & water or they will rot. LLA should be ok for the boolits.
