    weaver j2.5 lenses

I moved recently and while unpacking my gun stuff I came across my weaver j2.5 scope. the bell was dented and the lenses were damaged.

I really like this little scope and would rather it worked

can somebody point me in the right direction? surplus shed has lenses all day long and for $9 for the pair I'd jump on it, but I'm not sure where to measure the focal length.

They have the gear to measure lenses properly. I'm not a telescope expert any more (in the 70s knew a fair bit) but any optics web site might tell you how to measure focal length?

IF Cecil Tucker is still in business, send that scope to him for a complete rebuild. He did several of the older Weaver t series scopes for me and when they came back were like new. Sadly that was several years ago. The best place to start looking for him or another rebuilder would be on Benchrest Central.

OR buy a used Weaver J2.5, a familiar auction site has them for about $13.90 and shipping

I dont want to replace it or send it to someone to repair it
*I* want to repair it, I thought a bullet casting forum would be up for that kind of self sufficiency

If you can repair your own scopes you are above us mere mortals so there's that.

the j2.5 is not sealed and is a very basic pattern (like those cheap rimfire scopes)
