    magnet near powder scale

would a magnet to old my powder trickier near my powder scale interfere with the magnet dampening on the scale

the magnet would be about 6 to 8 inches from the scale dampener

I would think that if the arm of the scale (the part that swings) has any iron on/in it then you stand a very good chance of corrupting the reading.

I know for a fact that static charge can corrupt the scale reading...this is due to the attractive force of an electric field . Rub some peanut styrofoam and place it next to the arm and see what happens.
