    .50 cal.bore brush

I load .45/70 with Black powder and get a residue buildup inside the case. I am looking for some .50 cal. used or new bore brush's that I can put on my portable drill to clean the inside of the case. Are there any .50 cal., organizations that I can contact to try to get a couple ?.

I buy mine at the local gun store. I don't remember if they were Hoppe's or Pro Shot. Any place that sells muzzleloaders will have them.

Last batch I bought came from Gunparts.corp, the gun parts people.

I use them to clean my bullseye .45 ACP. I am nowhere near using up that bag of brushes.

I use military 50 cal bore brushes for cleaning my 45 cal pistols aand rifles. The worn used ones are excellent for cleaning BP residue out of 45-70 cases.

I find that a 0.410 bore mop used to pump soapy water in/out of the
case/flashhole while held underwater in a pot cleans things totally.

Here is just what you need: https://www.brownells.com/gun-cleani...-prod1283.aspx you can get pistol or rifle length for .50 BMG just scroll down the page. I buy these to keep on hand for when I have a really pitted .50 blackpowder rifle in the shop to work on, they fit fine for that too and as a bonus they fit on a normal cleaning rod. They aren't a bad general purpose brush either being a convenient half-inch diameter, so good to have a few around in general for life tasks.
