Henry .357 single shot twist rate?

What twist rate do they have? Will it work with 'heavy for caliber' cast boolets? I am thinking about reaming to .357 max? Thanks, hc18flyer

According to Henry web site twist is 1:16" which will stabilize a 200-grain bullet with no issues.

Any idea what diameter cast bullets round be sized to? Do I start with a .358 or .360 mold? Looking at the Larsen 180 Mihec group buy for my .357 mag Henry re. Thanks, hc18flyer

for starters i'm currently loading BBI 160 grain hi-tecs that are .358 sized. might test out PPBs, too, so might check out accurate molds for slick offerings.

Keep me posted on your progress. I have some Cast Performance 180 wnfp, gc boolets coming. I am having trouble finding specific bullet, powder, and oal data. Using the .360 Dan Wesson brass vs max adds another dimension? hc18flyer

i just create a dummy round and see how far out i can seat the 160 grain hi-tecs. currently using w231 as a pistol load but have 2400 and 4227 to make up rifle loads with the 160 bullet. at my 25yd indoor police range i shot this offhand 15 shot group with a cheap 4x scope. won't get out to some serious distance 'til the spring.

Looks like you have a winner on your hands.

357 Max may well be even better for paper or annimal..

Wish Rossi had the good sense to use that 1:16 rifling!
