First deer With Cast in my '06!!

Hi Troops Been awhile since I've been on Here, Wife has had some terrible health problems for a couple years but she is finally doing well, I've been lucky enough to take quite a few deer with cast in the muzzle loader barrel on the Encore but this is the first one with my '06 barrel I was as Giddy as a school girl after the shot!! No tracking High shoulder shot with the Lee 180 gn. rn. and it was bang flop!! I was worried the boolit was to hard, straight WW, But it worked Fine!! Woo Hoo! Thanks for all the help with your threads they are really great info!! Now it's The Model 99's turn in 300 Savage !! But will Have to Wait till Next Year Season is over here in Pa.!! Plus My Freezer is Full!! That is a Great Feeling!

Glad things are going your way. The.30 calibers work well with cast on deer. I've used several including a 99 in .300 with cast. You may want to get a design with a flat nose before next year, though it sounds like the RN did fine.

birddog1520 I am so glad your wife has progressed from her past health problems. I pray that she has no more issues like that. Also congratulations on your cast boolit 30-06 deer. Sounds like your TC frame is no stranger to deer kills. I also like the 50 caliber muzzleloader barrel. I have used my Encore a few times on deer with muzzleloader, .308 Win., & 375 H&H. They are a fun platform to use and its just as others have said, they are addicting when before you know it your safe has several barrels stored in it. It is a very versatile platform.

Wife on the mend, deer in the freezer, being able to get back to shooting-- life doesn't get much better.

glad to hear your wife is ok.
And congrats on the 3006 deer.
I can understand how you felt on the deer.
    I purchase a 45-70 a few years ago.
And reloaded for it to deer hunt.
I did get a few doe with it.
Now I am on a mission to find
best lead boolit for my COWBOY.
