    Shell holder confusion.

I'm trying to round up dies, etc. to load for my son's 460 S&W Magnum and I'm getting conflicting info on the correct shell holder to buy. I have charts that say the RCBS #4 is the one to use but sources say that's for the 7MM Remington Magnum family of cartridges. I have charts that say it's the #20 which is what the 45 LC and the 454 Casull uses. I would think it would be the #20 since you can shoot 45 LC and 454's in this gun. Is there a slight difference in rim thickness/diameter between the 45 LC/454 Casull and the 460?

The box the Dies come in should say #4 as does the reference chart I have.

If I was to guess, I would say that the 460 s&w is specified to have more under cut above the rim allowing you to use a shell holder that grips more of the rim to prevent it from tearing off during sizing.

Of course this is all speculation since I don't have the shell holders in front of me to measure and couldn't find the specs online.

I have the Graf chart too and it says #20. Skunk1 what reference chart do you have? See what I mean guys? I was hoping to get stuff ordered this weekend but may have to wait until Monday to give RCBS a call.
