My Springfield XD's definitely do not do well with SWC's. Round nose bullets cycle all day long with them.

No problems with SWC in any of my 45's. Colt Gold Cup , Colt Commander, AMT hardballer and Star model PS....every one fed them like a champ....even won a few NRA Bullseye Match trophies with SWC's in the 45 acp . The problem might be you aren't holding your mouth right .

I got started with the .45 ACP using the Lyman 452460. It works fine in my Kimber so I looked no further. I now have three molds for that boolit, two DC and a four cavity All three drop ACWW in to the range of 205-207 grains so I really don't see the need to get rid of one of the DC.

They do look very short and stubby when loaded to 1.16", but they feed and do what I need my .45 to do. Which is go bang every single time I pull the trigger.

Gary, now those are just purdy!
Also my favorite bullet in my wad guns, hardball gun, truck gun & carry gun. My first wad gun is closing in on 80,000 of a combination of those and H&G 130's through it & still holds 10 ring or better @ 50 yds. Full disclosure, I do have about 500 Lyman 460's and a thousand Zero 185 JHP's in that 80k

The original XD in 45ACP had issues with the SWC. This problem was corrected in the XDM. I have both versions of the pistol.
For the Early XD, I load the Lee 452-200-RF and it works perfectly.
I wanted a 200 grain boolit for it and this one fits the bill.
My 1911 pistols in 45ACP will all feed the H&G 68 clones as well as the Lyman 452460. Hard to tell which one shoots better.

5.0 grains of 452AA under the Lee clone of the #68 shoots very well from a 1911.

    Very nice photo, 44!

The only hurt, pain or anguish I can imagine is one of those things coming at me!
The .45 is an amazing all-around caliber, no question.

I used a lot of 452AA back in the 1990's with the H&G 68 with my 1911 and I have not use any powder in the 1911 that did not work great.

I've cast and shot more of that type bullet than any other in 45 ACP. It works well in all of my pistols. I started with a RCBS 45-201 and eventually scored an original H&G 68. They both cast great.

Again I mean no hurt, harm, anguish or turmoil by my post I have posted on this posted subject. I am not baiting, trolling or calling out anyone. I am making a post based on my experience, knowledge and/or belief or opinion. That is all.
Looks like I could load your ammo in my pistol.

The Lee TL-452-200-SWC's work well too, I run these at 900FPS, good target & prolly pretty good SD round too. Easy on the 1911.

I use the SAECO #069 version of that 200 grain H&G #68 SWC and it feeds fine as long as you seat it so that very little shoulder shows above the case mouth.
    It is a fantastic round.

I reload for something like 25 diff calibers, most handgun, but I always have had an affinity for the ole 45acp. I also load mostly 200gr, but switched to a truncated cone for more reliable feeding in diff platforms. Funny the old 1911 is the least finicky platform when it comes to bullets?

Hmmm, My XDm in 45acp, and my XDs in 9mm both love the semi wadcutter boolits, I have no feeding problems with either one.

The original XD in 45ACP had issues with the SWC. This problem was corrected in the XDM. I have both versions of the pistol and can verify that the early XD 45acp pistols didn't work right with SWC type boolits and the XDM works perfectly with it.

I grew up on the .45 AUTO. First center fire auto I ever fired, I think I was 7-8 yrs old. 1911, Love at first shot.
I use a light load with a #452488 stubby WC in my Gold Cup.
A stout load with the RCBS 45-201-KT ( H&G 68 CLONE FB ) Clean holes in paper and feeds in anything ( no moslem made guns for me ).
And old faithful Hardball Load, #452374 cast hard over a max charge of UNIQUE.

    My Very Favorite Auto-loading handgun.
The 1911 in .45 Auto, the way it's supposed to be.
    I HATE auto-correct

Happiness is a Warm GUN & more ammo to shoot in it.

My Experience and My Opinion, are just that, Mine.

For a minute there I thought you stole my picture. This is from my first batch of Lee TL230-452-TC's many years ago. I love these bullets. They never jam in my 1911 or XD45 and perform great. The big heavy boolits fall like rain from the 6 cavity mold, probably the easiest casting bullets of all.

I now PC them instead of TL them. Makes for less smoke.

I’ve killed several deer with the lee 200swc just like that, the furthest shot was 35 yards, it looked like someone poked a sharpened pipe through that deer it was impressive, I was using VERY soft alloy almost pure with some tin added I think it was 7-8BHN
