Get the Grendel 2 or 7.62x39 bolt.

Most get the proper Grendel bolt , so called Type II bolt (not the 7.62x39 bolt)

Type 2 Bolt has a .136 head spacing
Type 1 bolt or 7.62×39 with a .125 head spacing.

I am still in process building the g 6.5 (eventually) -- but I was strongly advised against the x39 bolt.

Finally made it to the range with my grendel. 5 shots touching @100 and 3" group at 300 on steel target. I am using 120 gr PPU bthp bullet over 30 gr of CFE223 with cci 450 primer in new Hornady cases.

Music to my ears. I've been eyeballing those PPU bullets.

I MUST replace the trigger. Fighting it and the fading light, I put 5 Hornady Black 123 gr into 1-3/4" @100 Yds. The trigger is like crunchscrapecrunchcreepBANG! I don't get home from work early enough to shoot in good light this time of year-dang it. This is going to be fun I believe.

Fired one shot, moved the scope down and shot 4 more. Hornady Black 123gr ELD. I must get dies and bullets because $25 for 20 shots is not my jam as my Millennial children would say.... 2" bull @ 100yds.

When i first started shooting the Grendel it was 31 dollars per box. I quickly decided to reload for it.
