    Thank you Sir!

I plan on shooting some polymer coated cast bullets, too.

The peep site looks like a Redfield 102, had the same sight on a Krag sporter. The front band is commercial, not off a 1903/03A3 Springfield.

On the Krag collectors site there is a company that sells scope rails that fit where the rear sight would go, you can mount a pistol scope scout style. I have done 3 of our krags that way. Sure helps with my old eyes.

You are correct Sir in regards to the Redfield peep sight. I am still learning about this rifle!

Nice rifle - what else can I say? I could live with one of those. I like the cartridge it fires too.

Great work and great rifle! Be sure to respect the old gal pressure wise and enjoy her. My old bubbaed 98 Krag loved 4350 and the Remington.310" RN 180gr. It had a Redfield as well. I have an 8 pt on the wall; my first iron sight deer- courtesy of said Krag. Why oh why did I trade it for that other whatever?

Took many years to find my krag and in light of that will be many years before I even think about selling. The bores on at least 4 were so bad the kindest thing that could be said was that it had a barrel. Yet they were the nicest ones I found. One very important tip. Is that when these rifles stopped using corrosive primers the job was not done. Bullet jackets were made out of cupro nickle an alloy of copper and nickle. This stuff would leave glops of jacket fouling in the barrel. I scrubbed, patched, tried various solvents and only Shooters Choice did work.Have not tried others like wipe away or similar solvents. Frank
