Sorry. If I'd have known that I'd have posted it.

For some reason Lyman has always had very few loads for the Weatherby line of cartridges, usually just light loads with a few fast powders esp. UNIQUE. Other large cartridges get better treatment with loads using powders like 4895, 3031, etc. Don't know why that is, I know the cases are large but I'm sure better loads could be worked up as they have top end loads for the 45/70, .458, 270, 30-06, 7mm mag., etc.

Also look at 45-120 load data, that may be a little closer to 450 Rigby case size.

If you are shooting this in a double rifle, pistol weight boolits and reduced velocity have regulated nicely for me. They are much more pleasant to shoot also.

Ignore most of this, 8 hours later I remembered the details of the 450 Rigby, it is most definitely not more similar to the 450-120 and probably NOT in a double rifle.

I was thinking 450 Nitro Express, that I load for in 2 different Rigby doubles.

Although pistol weight boolits WILL be more fun to shoot.

    Dang geezer memory.
