    Win 1894 38-55 load

Worked out a load yesterday for my Grandpa's 38-55 using a .381 size FN cast bullet @ 273gr with GC. With 18gr of SR4759 it shot 1.2" at 100 yards off the bench out of a 26" rifle. Not sure what the velocity will be but suspect around 1400 fps.RCBS was kind enough to send me at no charge a larger seater die to accommodate the fatter bullets.Starline long brass was also used with Federal LRP's.Only have a lb of this discontinued powder but thought I'd use it up till it's gone.Perhaps I'll get to introduce it to a moose next fall?

Excellent accuracy and shooting that old girl..
Better than my Marlin CB using a scope..
I need to get a larger seating die myself..
Every time I look at the RCBS "Cowboy" die set the vendors are out of stock..
