    WWII Sailor coming home

    Hi all,
I had the honor of riding in the plane that brought home Durell Wade, Aviation Machinist's Mate 2nd Class, who was KIA on the USS Oklahoma on December 7th, 1941. The Captain asked passengers to sit and respect the honors ceremony as he was moved to the hearse before deplaning. I snapped this pic though the window, and thought how poignant for his surviving relatives to finally bring their sailor home. He is to be buried tomorrow. Here's a little more information regarding Durell Wade. Ed

Good story, daughter was interested in this research. Very painstaking and costly.

Interesting story. Apparently WWII and Korea unknowns are being identified on a fairly regular basis. I did not know this, but all of the unknowns from Korea are buried in Hawaii.
