    wtb: RCBS Scale Pan

I have an RCBS 5-10 scale that's missing the little aluminum powder pan. Checked with RCBS and they will gladly sell me one for somewhere around $30. Was wondering if someone would have one laying around the they would part with/trade away.

    Thanks in advance.

I prefer the Lyman powder pan that has the built in funnel, it saves a step in the process. All you have to do is adjust the amount of shot under the pan to balance the scale. hc18flyer

Look on e**y. Sometimes they will have some there. If you don't mind a functional non-metallic one, you buy one with the funnel, or this one.

I`m shocked that RCBS wants to sell you a pan and not just send you one under their lifetime guanantee plan.Robert

Are the CS reps paying more attention to the bean counters than the good name built by years of good will?
Seems to be happening all over. New owners demand profits and add bean counters to make it happen.
I spent 39 years in the plastics ind. My decisions in spending were almost never challenged. I'd sure hate to have that job now.

Just make sure you recalibrate the scale with the appropriate amount of lead shot in the hanger.
My Feedback, (did I buy or sell to you? Please add your Comments)

I’m not. They have charged me twice while sending me the same parts for free two other times. I was rebuilding separate LAMs so it wasn’t like I was trying to get spare parts for free. I’ve found RCBS to be inconsistent at best.

RCBS never made the scales. So I can only assume they’re buying the pans from Oahus, marking them up and then selling them. It’s a part that’s lost more than broken. And I don’t know any company that warrants lost parts.

A pan does not seem to be all that hard to fabricate --
Tin can, tin snips, hammer, and a block of wood for forming.
