Thanks all, we hunt for the time together, bonding, meat and the enjoyment of being outside. I grew up hunting with my dad and would not give that time back. We are building memories! She was very fortunate, that was a 95 yard slug shot and she was so jacked she could not hardly hold the shotgun! She is a good kid with a good heart, just sometimes a little short on patience and common sense. I was so happy for her! It was hard for her to sit, after the sun really started going down. That is until I pointed out ears in the weeds at the edge of the woods.

I think kids now days are so accustomed to everything providing instant gratification that something like this is very difficult for them to do. I have hopes that annual deer hunts may help with some of that desire for instant results, by actually helping her realize that good things sometimes take time!

It is nice to see how she thinks on the hunt . You taught her well.I am happy for her to get one and for you for the job you did to teach her. I am always happy when I get a deer also and it dose not matter how many I had got.
