    30-30 headspace gauge interchange?

I have been looking for a headspace gauge for a 22 Savage HP .
No one list one. or a 5.6x52R which is suppose to be the same, although some manufactures list the reamers as different part numbers so something there is a miss.
But on the Headsapce gage , can one use the 30-30 gage on the 22 HP?
I formed all my brass for it out of 30-30 brass.
Its a rimmed case so is the gage used as the same?
Its used in the 25-35 which is the parent case for the HP.
    Am wondering.

Common sense says it should be the same.

I just went to Brownell's website and checked the .30-30 head space gauge specs. It does list the .22 HP.

30-30 will work just fine. For rimmed cases I just turn my own from specs. One dead on one 6 thou over and one 10 thou over.

If you are just checking headspace on that one rifle, you can easily do that with a fired case and shim stock trimmed to fit the bolt face.

If you need to buy one, be sure to buy from someone who knows that 30-30 headspaces on the rim. I know that sounds obvious, but I bought a 32 WS headspace gage from a reputable manufacturer and it did not work-- they thought 32 WS headspaces on the shoulder, so they cut away the rim area to make sure it would not touch the gage.

No way, are you serious! I just spit hot chocolate all over my iPad, laughing at that quote...... I hope they refunded all your costs and educated the worker. Todd/3leg

They did not refund-- insisted I was wrong. I really only wanted it to measure overall length before trimming, so I finally modified it myself. Walt

Let us know who that manufacturer is. They need their ignorance exposed.
