    1866 Lebel

Took my Lebel out yesterday, to try some cases that someone had converted from Berdan to Boxer.
Load is Lee 8mm Maxie custom, .326di/250gr, GC, IMR4198, 20.5gr, with a tuff of Dacron over the powder.
This is what I found to be the best for this rifle.
Sights on this rifle are strange.
If you have seen one, you know what I mean.

I'd say that's pretty good, everything considered! I doubt if it can be improved upon. Very good.

That old girl needs to hunt in broad daylight with those strange sights. You are a good shot! Did you know the French troops called the Lebels' ball tip bayonet "Rosalie"? I've no idea why, I just thought I'd throw that in.
