    22 LR Fun

I took my Ruger Target model MK2 with the red dot sight out and shot a few golf balls.
I ran about 100 rounds through it.
I forgot how much fun 22 RFs were...dale

They sure are. Sadly winter weather is soon upon us here. Most of mine are put away till spring. May get some Bullseye shooting in this winter though. Red Dots rule!

I’ve had people make fun of me because I like twenty-twos: “kid’s gun”, “glorified pellet gun”, etc..

I don’t care what they say, sometimes a .22lr is just a heck of a fun way to spend an afternoon at the range!

I played `bounce the tin can` as well as `bounce the golf ball` quite abit when I was younger and ammo was very inexpensive. Lots of fun in open spaces. Wonder if Tiger Woods does this in his spare time?Robert

My son and I had given up on 22 LR after the ammo scare and hoarding became a problem.

Now, with 22 ammo everywhere, we both bought matching GSG-1911's in 22 LR.

We just had a range day together. Our usual range days are 308s, AR-15s, Mosins, 357 mags and 9mm's.

This time it was just 22's. The GSG-1911's, a Ruger 10-22 and my old Remington 512.

    What a blast!

I love shooting 22's. I own 17 22 rifles and enjoy shooting all of them.

Never thought of the golf balls. Daughter is done with golf and I just bought her 8,000 22’s. Sounds like a few weekends of fun.

Nothing more fun than shooting floating cans and bottle on a river in flood stage with a .22 (either rifle or pistol). Creek bank plinking is fun too. Be sure of your backstop. I have a nice backstop on the river in front of my house and love it. Never know what will float by. A 55 gallon barrel happened along once and it took about 10 rounds of .45 ACP to put it down./beagle

All these games sound like fun. Just make sure of where your bullet will end up. 22LR will ricochet very easily.
Most people look at a 22LR and see a low powered gun and don't worry much about the backstop. A 40 grain round nose can be harder to stop than you would believe.
