winchester 32/20 bullet form late 1960's

Last 32/20 lead ammo I bought was Winchester 115 grain copper coated? lead flat nose in the late 60,s. Never saw one out of the case. What mold would most closely duplicate that bullet?

    I went with Accurate 31-105T in my .32-20s and .32 S&W Long

The old Ideal 3118 is a true copy of the original Winchester mold that they offered with the Model 1873 rifles. I use several thousand of them a year in 32-20

Looks like it could be the same one I remember. In the loaded round, there was a small shoulder just out of the case, then a radius down to the flat nose.

A thing to remember, if you plan to load with smokeless powder, #3118 does not have a crimp groove, but depended upon base support from a compressed blackpowder charge to keep bullets from telescoping back into the case from compression of the tube magazine spring. If loading for a revolver you can probably crimp in the top lube groove if rounds are not too long for the cylinder to rotate. But rounds so loaded are too long to feed in the Winchester 1873 or 1892.

Accurate has several 115-grain .32-20 bullets of traditional shape, and one of these might work for you. My S&W Hand Ejector requires 100-grain bullets to shoot to it fixed sights.

I shoot the 311-316 out of my Browning 53 carbine and RCBS 32-98 SWC NOE clones out of my Colt Army Special and S&W M&P. The gas-checked 311-316 is much more accurate out of my Browning than the 311-008 that I have.
