    Lyman Mag 25

Can the Lyman Mag 25's PID controller be turned up above 850 degrees
I thought that I've read somewhere that it can , i'm looking to run the pot
at around 870-880 degrees . The pot is set at 850 from the factory .

Any help is appreciated , Thanks

Why would you want to run it that hot?

The LEE 32 cal 93 grain 6cav for one. The RCBS 32 -77-RN for another. And the tiny steel or iron 2cav .22 caliber 2-4cav molds.

I cast mostly small slugs from 35-50 grain with pure lead or 40:1
and the higher temp produces much better looking boolits for me .

    Greetings

To adjust the temp setting you first have to remove the temp dial from its stud...just pull it to you and it should slide off, then look in the middle of the stud you should see a small adjusting screw in there...i believe that counter clock wise will raise the temp up...you only need to turn it am 1/8 turn to see the temp change...do it with a thermometer and watch for the light to go on and off.

    Hope this helps

That works for the Mag 20 with a thermostatic control, the Mag 25 has a PID.
