    300 BLK 8 point

Just got in the stand this afternoon no more than 30 minutes and a doe came running past at 50 yards. Sure enough a buck hot on her tail. I had a clear shot where she crossed the creek 50 yards away and when he did the same I slung some lead his way. His rack looked bigger on the hoof but you can't eat them anyway. 300 BLK AR pistol, 12.5" barrel, Liberty Mystic suppressor, Vortex Strikefire red dot. Load is 15gr IMR 4227, Lee C309-170F 50/50 COWW/pure lead 1550 fps.Click image for larger version.

Nice kill!! Hey Petroid, how do you go about figuring out your COA for that boolit? I too have a 300 AR 10.5" barrel and am just about ready to start loading for it.
Got a .22 .30 .32 .357 .38 .40 .41 .44 .45 .480 or .500 S&W cylinder that needs throats honed? 9mm, 10mm/40S&W, 45 ACP pistol barrel that won't "plunk" your handloads? 480 Ruger or 475 Linebaugh cylinder that needs the "step" reamed to 6° 30min chamfer? Great job- neck shot? I've got that same boolit ready in the 30-30. I seat the .250" point on any bullet adjacent to the magazine ribs on the .300 BO for assured function.

I make up a dummy round seated as far out as it will go and still chamber easily. Then i cycle it several times to make sure it will feed smoothly. Believe or not flat nose bullets feed just fine in an AR

Still trying to figure that out. I suspect there was an unseen twig that deflected the bullet. I had a solid hold on his shoulder.

Here's the gun with a coyote that was tailing a couple of yearlings a few days ago. Same load.

They work best with lancer mags.
Tried 185gr version of the above with cfeblk recently, should be doing ~ 1700 fps, PC of course. Should be a good big hog load for 50yds without optics. Wonder if that is a legal combo for pistol only days in some states. 10" pistol is only 5# and I can sling it over my back.

Glad the twig wasn't farther from the deer. You are right, you can't eat the antlers.

I had a sneaking suspicion that the .300 Blackout with a normal for caliber weight boolit would be the functional equivalent of the old .32-40 so it is no surprise that it works fine on whitetail.

My 300 blackout seem to like that boolit as well as my 30-30. Nice set up and a good buck; I will be doing some hunting in KY next year; the 300 will be my walking around gun; sure hope to have your luck. Thanks for sharing!
