    45LC bullet lube

I'm in a remote location away from services and found that I neglected to bring my typical lube for 45 revolver loads. I happen to have a bottle of LEE alox along but that is all. Since I have nothing else at hand, can this work on a Keith-style SWC bullet?

Yes. I tumble lube all my cast bullets. In fact, all my molds are lube groove design except 1 and I don't care for it. 45 colt is one of my favorites.

    It'll work fine.

Remember, less is more with the LLA.
You only need to use a small amount and if you can't see the coating that's about right.

I don’t think it will keep the black powder fouling soft. For just a few shots it’s better than no lube.

I agree with that, with smokeless powder it works great, but when using with BP, it would be next to useless.

Find something greasy and shoot it (beaver, badger, ground hog, sheep, deer, etc) and problem solved.
To paraphrase Ronald Reagan, the trouble with many shooting experts is not that they're ignorant; its just that they know so much that isn't so.
