    Range Time With The Wasp

    Shot the Wasp today.
Pistol: Contender Easy Open Frame (10 Ounce Trigger BY Me)
    Grips Georgia Jim Yellow Laminate
Barrel 16 Inch OTT Full Bull Matte Finish Chambered in 219 Donaldson (Long Version)
BullBerry Scope Base With Burris Signature Rings
Burris Predator Quest 4.5-14x42 1 Inch Scope

Ammo: New Winchester Brass Just Formed
IMR 3031 Powder (Old Thin Red Can) 24.2 Grains
    CCI 200 Primers
    Hornady 55 Grain V-Max

It was about 57 degrees wind calm. Distance about 60 yards. Sitting on Fuzz Rest. Solid even for an old man like me. This was a joy to shoot. Sad to say I have had it for three or four years and just got around to forming brass and shooting. Can't wait til I get some load development. The second box of new brass is loaded with IMR 4320. Can NOT WAIT See Pictures Below.

Thanks for reading and if you have any pet loads please let me know

Thanks fellows. The Fuzz rest really helps. Here is a picture of it

Those OTT barrels are hard to beat and the 10 ounce trigger helps a lot too

    Safe shooting

Never had a TC but had a couple rifles in wasp. My load was 30gr of IMR-4895/ 55gr bullet at approx
3550fps. I don't know how that would work out in short barrel.

Did you form them from 25-35 Win? That 55gr Vmax is a great bullet - fast becoming my favorite in 22-250. Did you chronograph your loads? Load development is fun when it starts out like that!

Used new 30-30 brass. Going to try Sierra 60 grain next barrel is a 1-9 twist, but the V-Max may win out. Keep telling my Wife the Grankids need a Labradar for Christmas LOL But no luck so far

I use Hornady SX &SJSX 55gr in all my CF 22s from 222 to 220Swift. I picked them because of their
performance on groundhogs. There are many accurate 22 bullets but they don't open up at 3000-3200 fps. The other bullets don't seem to kick in until you get up to 3300-3400 Fps range. Second choice would be Sierra Blitz 55gr.

A lot of cool factor going on there. Thought- that rest is beautiful, you know they have yellow anodizing and with the black components on that rest would be WOW!
