    Uberti 1873 45LC ,, loads .

A friend has a older "73 " Uberti in 45LC ,, I used the pistol load data ( Lyman # 49 ) to load a couple of rds. , using a 255gn. ( 10-12 BHN ) bore mic. @ .452 ,,shot as cast @ .454 aneled the neck's . Loaded w/ ww231 @ 6.9gn. & w/ TB 5.8gn. ,, I have not loaded for a 73 before ,, sure don't want to damage his rifle ,, but pretty sure the TB load's were ok. I cleaned over 250 case for him ,, they all were black & sooty ,, " But " the one's I loaded for him were still clean after he fired them ,, no blow back . Soo just ck'n to be sure were safe w/ these loads for every day targets & steel plates .

That load of 6.9grs of WW231/HP38 is just under the max of 7.1grs under the 250gr Bullet.

I have a copy of the old HODGDON Cowboy Reloading Handout. It lists a starting load of 5.8grs of WW231/HP38.
The UBERTI Henry/'73/'66 have a pretty strong need to keep cartridge O.A.L. to a minimum.
I use a medium load of CLAYS myself.

Your loads should not damage decent steel plates.

    Good Luck.
    5.0grs CLAYS under a 230gr TC.
    I HATE auto-correct

Happiness is a Warm GUN & more ammo to shoot in it.

My Experience and My Opinion, are just that, Mine.
