    Old dog learning new tricks!

I am doing real time report on my first PC effort. I am waiting on a 3rd bake of 220gr HP for 358 win. I figure I got about 1900fps with lubed GC'd RCBS 200. Going to start these bad boys at 40grs of H4895 and very ecxcited.Click image for larger version.

Its hard to tell from the picture, but the coating doesn't look like uniform coverage, but it could just be the photo.

ID:	230474I added another 2 coats after that and loaded them at Hodgdon minimum for H322 and up 2 grains in 1/2 gr incrs. I might be being a bit ambitious but twist is only 1:14

What you are looking for on a full power rifle bullet is a PC build out of approximately .003" of coating to provide a jacket of sufficient thickness, according to our PhD polymer physicist. If you need multiple coats to achieve this then do what is called a "partial cure" on the first coat. So you heat the first coat just until the powder completely flows, stop the process and add another coat, then do a full cure. This way the coats will cross link into a single thick coat. Multiple coats can be added this way.

To keep the powder out of the HP I spray the bullets upside down with the HP on a nail. I made a tray for this I call my bed of nails.
