    .

AFAIK, they were made in Italy under contract with Colt, but IDK exactly which maker.

There might be European proofmarks hidden under the stock that should have a makers mark if it was imported into the US.

Colt Black Powder Arms Co (licensed by Colt)(I think the company now makes Henry guns) in Brooklyn and Chattahoochee Black Powder Arms of Cummings, Ga. Some were re-done and sold by James River Armory.

I had read in a couple of places that they were Italian made under license from Colt but didn't know if that was accurate. There is a very nice one for sale on one of our forums that supposedly may be unfired. Price though is high at $1350.00 so I was wondering who actually made them.

James River Armory and Chatahootchie made them. The JRA had Hoyt rifled barrels that shot very well. Try asking over on the BB at N-SSA.org for all things musket

James River Armory rebuilt and sold guns from Euroarms. Bobby Hoyt rifled the early guns, he supplied rifled barrels for the later guns when barrels were not available. Check over at the N-SSA site. Their address is n-ssa.org Good shooting.
