    I'm glad you asked this question as I have been contemplating H4198 for my 303 Brits with paper patch. I've been using H4227 and have a spare can of it but the slower 4198 sounds like a better option.

    So 4198 works in the hornet? Good to know. Mine gets Lil'Gun under jacketed's and it's no slouch (55gr @ 2740 fps!) I'm wanting to try cast in it again.

    H-4198 woks great in my 40-60 Chaparral 215gn. rnfp cast .406 dia.

    I use alot of it for reduced loads in 30-30, 06, 270, with J word boolits. Saves wear and tear on my Model 54 and 95 in 06, pleasant to shood and reasonably accurate. Also H4895 works well too

    It will work in the .30 Carbine Ruger, but velocity is low and you will get unburned powder. Works OK as long as you keep muzzle elevated while poking out empties, then spin cylinder with gate open and blow out loose powder before reloading.
