Carbon fiber, limited production. Niche market for Blaser rifle users (Professional Hunters typically).
Blaser is one of those German companies that caters to the prestige seeking customer who is not price sensitive. I think you will find everything that those companies market is listed for about 4 times the cost of production where most companies are happy with a 50% markup.

What he ^^^^ said ! You are paying for the privilege of having the Blaser name on the product.
Look at the Blaser rifles, the R8, they start at $4600 and go up from there.
In the scope of things that $600 is not all that bad considering the cost of the whole package.
That is if you have deep enough pockets, I don't. But I do like to look.
They’d sell more of them if they put “Tactical” in the description somewhere, too.
Or if some political type threatened investigation/registration/Ban/or Designation as an Assault Weapon Device.
