Ok, that makes sense. We never worry about that here because they're already here anyway. I've killed a few coyotes over gut piles after dark. Coyotes sing to us 4 of 7 nights a week usually.
Good buck and I like that Marlin.

Way to go; the quality of the buck is often directly proportional to the length and difficulty of thebdrag

I told you that tree was where to be. Now give credit where it is due.

yep, tis the truth. I shimmied up the recommended tree and it paid dividends.

but the last one was on my own.

I'm starting to get the hang of this tree hunting bit, thanks to some good advice.

That looks like a typical 2 1/2 year old buck. Yes, his antlers are broken from fighting with other bucks. There are others around about his size or bigger. Bucks like him don't fight little bucks. It is hard to get one older than 2 1/2 because so many hunters see them as mature bucks when they could use another 2 years of growth.

I’ve never tree hunted either! I got a tree trimmed up and ready on my new place for a seat here pretty soon though. Good times!

Oh come on guys that is a fence raised deer no way they get that big in NC I bet it was shot 20 feet from the feeder. LOL just kidding deer in NC has been getting better size bucks for awhile now and more in numbers for the most part. We took a hit we deer a year or two ago but they have came back kind of strong. Seeing more bucks around my area in the last few years good for the horn hunters but I am a meat hunter.
BTW got 6 to turn into steaks jerky and ground meat this weekend if anyone wants to come help.
Do not think I am going to add any fat this run since I seen a post where one fellow is just adding olive oil to his to make it stick together. So I am going to give it a try.
Nice deer DJ I know its tougher on you since your in the mountain area of the state I am in the middle and we have alot more deer.
Reloading to save money I am sure the saving is going to start soon
