    Soft BP lube for smokeless

Would a soft bees wax and fat blackpowder lube be suitable for low velocity(1200 to 1500 fps) smokeless rifle rounds?

You mention fat...years ago I did a very comprehensive test of salt in mutton tallow this was written up in the CBA Fouling Shot. There was trace amounts of salt present in well rendered tallow. Wayne Swartz ruined a barrel by using butter flavored Crisco in place of regular Crisco making Emerts lube. I only use animal fats in black powder lubes now as the water base cleaners will flush salt deposits out.

I only use Crisco or olive oil for my fat. I may try deer fat since I have it. The rest is pure bees wax. I did get a lot of leading with my 1907 -14 Greek Mannlicher with hard lead and 2 thous. over groove dia.
