Been gone again since yesterday. Probably be another 2 weeks before it's back. I've been expecting it to just just disappear one of these days for lack of interest.

No joy for me either. It went down a couple years ago and when it came back up, I printed a couple calibers that I use often. Sure hope it comes back up, it's been a valuable resource for me.

If it comes back up, I plan to copy and save some of the info. before it disappears forever. They had some load data by Taffin that I wanted, specifically, some of his 40S&W, 45LC, and 480 Ruger data. I tried some of the web archive sites but they didn't archive down enough levels to have the load data.

I was just trying to get on handloads for some reduced 30-30 load ideas but it was down. I never posted there but used the load data often. And similar to some of you printed the loads for several calibers and keep them in a binder in my shop for reference when trying new things.

After examining the WHOIS records for the site, it appears their registration expired on 1/30/2019. This would explain the disappearance of the site. I am attempting to contact the registered owner of the domain to see what can be done to resolve this or to acquire the assets.

Any updates on this? Were you able to contact the site owner? I would be interested in knowing the costs to keep the site going, or if the owner would be interested in selling. It is a good point of reference for new loads.

In general for range firing to hone your skill you need to keep the kick down so you can shoot longer periods of time. (This "mother of all handguns" can wear you out within a half hour if you don’t try things to metigate the pain)I found light bullet loads with light loads of lil’gun still generate aprox 30k PSI in the case which is well enough to get the bullets out. 22.5k is min PSI for safe bullet launch out a 8 3/4 barrel. I use the LR Primers in my reload due to note from Corbon concerning magnum handgun primer burn thru causing damage to the firing pin. (see Corbon website). I also like that the LR seats about .006 deeper that the Magnums so the are in fact alitter easier to load in my opinion.

This is one of my commercial .500 bullets fired from a 15" OTT Encore barrel with integral break. All testing done in one session, chrono was placed 10’ from muzzle and most accurate loads were selected for further developement. Rounds were fired at 50 yards. This load produced a 2.5" group with 22" drop at 200 yards.

This load produced an enormous amount of recoil thru the breaked 15" OTT Encore barrel. The SD was acceptable at 17, however the grouping was much larger than the H4227 load. Note: the bullets are my commercial gas checked bore rider design and shot very fast with no lead buildup.

I was looking for something a little lighter than the Hornady 350 XTP’s that I had been shooting. These were using Rainer Ballistics 335 grain FMJ-Flatpoint bullets and are a nice round out of my 4-inch Model 500. (not punishing). The only thing I’ll change for the next batch is probably switch to CCI 350 primers as I think they’re a bit cleaner. (Hornady Brass used for these loads)

this is a great load, i cant say if this is a max load but i dont think you can compress it much more, the OAL can get shorter as i had went to 2.198 and there is a differance in pressure, imagine that! Be Safe

I have printed all the pages for the cartridges that I load from about 2 years ago. They are in a 3 ring binder with other load tables and my data for these loads.

You didn't happen to keep the pages for 480 Ruger or 40 S&W? If so, could I trouble you for a copy?

I found out that one "John K." originally owned Handloads.com. I actually found his number and left a message. He's like 77 years old (according to MyLife.com) and resides in WA.

    Farmerjim,

It would be great if there was a way for you to post them here if ya can.

I realize it is likely asking a lot, since the data Dieselhorses posted (post#32) was just for one caliber & it was pretty large, but if you could put your load data from the Handloads site into a .pdf file format and upload it to a place like Google Plus so we could all look at it & then all of us could save the .pdf file to our own computers & the load data could be shared that way.

I use 7 out of the 11 calibers you say you have & I am looking at trying to get a 45/70 so that would be 8, and you have a treasure trove of load data from there. SO I would certainly be interested if you figure out a way to share what you have with others.

Anyway, Just a thought. I wish I had known that the site would have been taken down/lapsed, or I would have put some of the load data into .pdf files long ago. Hindsight is always 20/20 though...

    { Which now reminds me that I need to go & do that for some other sites, over the next few weeks, so it does not happen again like what happened to Handloads.com. If nothing else, make screenshot or Word/RTF files to save them.}

I spoke with someone today concerning "HandLoads.com" and owner doesn't live at that residence anymore. I left a message for "John K." to call me back. The person I did talk to (I believe she may be his wife?) said that he didn't have any intentions of putting site back up. If he calls me going to see if "data" still exists.

I only checked a few calibers, but this seems to be working. Get it while you can! Maybe someone smarter than me can figure out a way to get it all and get things running again!
